Just juzi when #JKIA was on fire, KQ
diverted all its flights to Eldoret and Mombasa Airports. Rumour has
it that KQ catered for the fare from Mombasa and Eldoret Airports to
Nairobi’s Machakos ‘airport’. But the fare was not catered for
everyone…KQ had special offers to specific travelers: Kipketer was
given a sports hamper (Reeboks and Keringet Water) and was told to
run to Nairobi. And Omera decided to take another international
flight to Kampala so that he can connect with a cruise ship to
Kisumu. As for Njoroge, he refused to proceed with the diversion to
Mombasa Airport and opted to alight witta parachute just above JKIA
ndo afungue shop ya maji (and if that fails, he would loot the debris
and open a thrift shop at River Road). Anyway, Kenya’s response to
disaster is really wantin; you find a situation where the president
arrives at a fire scene before the fire brigade! Smug logic suggests
that the fire brigades in Outering road had to give way for the
presidential motorcade!!! But the major irony is that the tragedy
occurred on the same date of the Bomb blast commemoration! Then a day later came the fire at Uchumi Aga Khan walk, perhaps some single jamaa decided to light a fire to escape the cold weather. He opted for the fire option after prices 'shot' up at Sabina Joy owing to the weather. LOL n Out!!!
